Quorn born player has left Liverpool languishing

FORMER Quorn FC striker Luke Varney was the key man as Blackpool put 18-times English champions Liverpool to the sword on Sunday.
Streaky forward Varney, playing his first every season in the Premiership with lowly Blackpool, stunned the Kop by winning a penalty as he ghosted past England international defender Glen Johnson then scoring a second with a perfectly executed run and finish to put them 2-0 up before half time.
The 2-1 away win for Blackpool left Liverpool to languish in the relegation zone over the international break.
Liverpool player Dirk Kuyt said: “It’s probably one of the hardest defeats I’ve had to take since I’ve been here and we’re sorry for the fans.”
And Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson said: “It’s frustrating that we have got the international break now because we will have this result hanging over us and everyone in the dressing room wants to put it behind us as quickly as possible.”

  1. “lowly Blackpool”
Please justify that. Last time I looked we were 9th in the EPL. Another example of biased and judgemental journalism.
