Retro football gaming – Pro Evolution Soccer 4

IF CRISISBLESS versus Northluck FC still gets your pulse racing, like me you remember PlayStation 2’s footballing heyday – Pro Evo 4.
Just before things got tricky with the onset of first touch becoming devilishly important, the hectic, fluid, fast-paced style of Pro Evo 4 made it a world class multiplayer game – and was the last where you were forced to play in the same room as your opponent before online gameplay came in on Pro Evo 5.
Call me old-fashioned, but a true beating is only worth handing out if you can see your opponent’s face drop as R De Mole slots a fifth past Schneitel.
Back in 2004, despite the dodgy team and player names, there was only one winner in football gaming stakes.
