PLUCKY Blackpool have punched well above their weight this season so far – culminating in a 2-1 away win dumping 18-times English champions Liverpool into the relegation places.
However following the international break, they host in-form Manchester City – and I fear they could be on the receiving end of a heavy defeat.
Up until now the Blues have played it safe, relying on a three man defensive wall of Gareth Barry, Nigel de Jong and Yaya Toure to nullify opponents resulting in a dressing room bust up between manager Roberto Mancini and striker Carlos Tevez over the negative approach in their win over Newcastle United.
But with flying fullbacks Jerome Boateng and Aleksander “the Serbian Roberto Carlos” Kolarov back on October 17, a shift in emphasis is on the cards.
Manchester City manager Mancini said: “Without flying full backs like Boateng and Kolarov, who can push forward, I’ve had to adjust the team to get results and stay in touch with the leaders.
“But only until everyone is back and fit…”
Things are looking ominous for The Seasiders…
