“People have likened my playing style to Emile,” says England newcomer Kevin Davies.
The Bolton striker has had his first international call-up at the age of 33, and hopes to play against Montenegro on Tuesday in Euro 2012 qualifying.
And hoping to capitalise on his use to the team and link-up play – and presumably not his ability to spoon golden opportunities into grateful keepers’ hands and fall over a lot – Davies has compared himself to England’s retired striker Heskey.
He said: “Obviously people have likened my playing style to Emile and he’s retired now.
“We’ve always been compared, we’ve got a lot of similarities in the way we played the game.
“Fortunately for him he’s the one who’s played for England all these years and I think he’s done a good job.”
Being compared to Heskey? That’s not a good thing, Kev.
