MAN City’s Mancini has been scheming to unleash a new-look attacking set-up in the Premier League – and Blackpool looked most likely to bear the brunt of this offensive.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini had said: “Without flying full backs like Boateng and Kolarov, who can push forward, I’ve had to adjust the team to get results and stay in touch with the leaders.
“But only until everyone is back and fit…”
However since then Jerome Boateng has missed Germany’s recent internationals through a viral infection and become a doubt for the October 17 match with the Seasiders.
And today news of Aleksandar Kolarov’s expected return date being pushed back to October 30 has broken.
Add to this striker Mario Balotelli’s ongoing absence, it looks likely the defensive approach will be employed for a match or two more.
