A SEVEN-piece jigsaw puzzle proved too tricky for Brazil’s national team, says Julio Cesar.
Admitting their semi-final World Cup exit in South Africa left him unable to leave the house for eight days, goalkeeper Cesar revealed that his teammates were presented with a seven-piece puzzle by coaches which they were unable to finish.
Only five pieces were added.
The giant jigsaw was placed at the head of the table where the players had their meals, and after each match coach Dunga would hand team captain Lucio a piece which he would add to the picture of the trophy.
He said: “It makes me feel bad, even today.
“Even now, when I lie down and put my head on the pillow, I lament it, I still get emotional and feel sad, because I think we had everything it takes to win the World Cup.”
