FORGET the Emirates Cup, soon Gunners fans will be celebrating some serious silverware, according to boffins.
Mathematicians behind the Performance League data analysis system, which uses raw data rather than human judgement to analyse trends in sporting leagues, say that this year Arsenal will top the table.
Current league leaders Chelsea will finish third behind Arsenal and Manchester United, while Liverpool will qualify for the Champions League in fourth spot.
West Ham, Sunderland and Blackpool will all be relegated, say the eggheads.
Jon Goodman, former striker with Wimbledon, set up the system after seeing it used across the pond for baseball. He said: “”This is revolutionary.
“We give clubs the opportunity to remove any emotion and subjectivity from their post match analysis.
“It enables them to better understand whether the match result was a ‘true’ reflection of their performance.”
