Man City plan £100m January spending spree

DESPITE currently sitting in the Champions League places, moneybags Manchester City are reportedly looking to push on in the second half of the season with a £100m reinforcement programme.
Roberto Mancini has been handed the astonishing war chest, and top of his shopping list is striker Edin Dzeko of Wolfsburg, who has a price tag of around £35m.
That said, after yesterday’s bore draw, I can imagine any available striking talent around will be under the Man City microscope…
At the same time, rumours abound that unwanted players Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz will all be offloaded in the transfer window to free up wage budget.
All of this could mean a lot of pack shuffling going on in the Premier League’s other clubs – is anyone else looking forward to the New Year?
