FOOTBALL’S lawmakers are to turn into the fashion police at their March meeting.
FIFA executives are to debate whether the trend of players wearing snoods around their necks should be brought to an end with a blanket ban.
Premier league stars including Mario Balotelli, Samir Nasri and Carlos Tevez have all sported the winter warmer so far this term – but not all players and managers are fans.
A FIFA spokesman said: “We want a debate whether it could be dangerous.
“There may be a safety issue – if for example a player was running through on goal and an opponent grabbed his snood, that could pose a potential danger to his neck.”
FIFA also wants to make sure that if a player wears tights then they are the same colour as their shorts.
