SWAGGERING Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is known for having a big head – but his head literally swelled up last night due to a grass allergy.
The Italian was playing in Ukraine last night for his side’s clash with Dynamo Kiev – but Balotelli failed to leave the tunnel for the second half after his face became inflamed due to an allergy to certain types of grass.
Despite shots to control the swelling, he was subbed off for Carlos Tevez in the 57th minute.
Manager Roberto Mancini said: “Mario had an allergy, I don’t know what, his face was swollen, I don’t know why.
“He wanted to play in the second half but he had this problem 10 seconds before coming out.
“I came out a minute before the players and I didn’t see Mario. He then said he could play but his face was swollen.”
