WHEN Real Madrid welcome Spurs to Spain next week in the Champions League, two Spanish internationals are relishing the opportunity to take on their footballing hero – Peter Crouch.
During last summer’s World Cup, Alvaro Arbeloa and Raul Albiol discovered that the lofty England striker was a sensation on their Playstation.
The teammates used to pair up as England to play Sergio Ramos and Jes̼s Navas as Spain Рand even bought their own replica shirts of Crouch and Gerrard.
Arbeloa said: “During the World Cup we were on the PlayStation constantly
“They were Spain, we were England and it got pretty intense.
“We always put Crouch up front – and he scored loads.
“We bought ourselves England shirts. You’d be there in the Spain hotel and there were two guys in white, ‘Gerrard’ and ‘Crouch’ on the back.”
