Boffins create anti-diving shinpads

SCIENTISTS have created a new shinpad which can tell referees if a player has dived.
The new shinpads contain a set of magnets and sensors which can tell if a player has tripped himself or been genuinely upended.
Former ref Jeff Winter is backing the technology. He said: “The game has to change, we have reached a point where diving is almost becoming a tolerated part of the game.
“But it is cheating. Fans hate diving and the Football Association should give a three-game ban to anyone who is caught diving.
“There is an almighty fuss about bringing in goalline technology. So it will be difficult to introduce something like this, no matter how good it is.”
Now all we need is an anti-swearing muzzle…
