AS TRANSFER rumours go, this is one to make you go ‘awww’ – word on the grapevine is lumbering target man Emile Heskey will be returning to his roots turning out for Leicester City next season.
Heskey’s game time at Aston Villa has been sporadic this season, with only 23 appearences and six goals for the former England striker in 2010/2011.
And as a result it’s whispered Championship-chasing Leicester City could be in for the striker – who would be reunited not only with his hometown club but a former manager in Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson should a deal be struck.
Makes me feel all warm inside. You wouldn’t bet against that one actually happening now, would you?
Why not get in for improbable Derby County target Michael Owen while you’re at it, Sven – that pairing really would be a blast from the past…
