DESPITE scoring a 35-yard bullet of a goal, nobody was celebrating at Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno last weekend.
In a bizarre scene spotted by 101 Great Goals, 19-year-old Javier Garcia scored a superb long-range effort against top flight rivals Nacional, but none of his teammates celebrated with the youngster.
He said: “Nobody wanted to celebrate with me. Some of my teammates insulted me.”
Nobody has yet gone public with a reason why Garcia is such an unpopular figure – but not even the crowd seemed that bothered by his strike.
Move over Joey Barton – there’s a new hate figure in town.
