Always a shaky start at Wolves

A FRENCH custom of players and staff shaking hands is the reason behind Wolverhampton Wanderer’s team spirit, says Mick McCarthy.
The manager says the morning flesh-pressing tradition he learnt while playing in France for Lyon has helped him forge the spirit which has seen his side repeatedly beat the drop and keep their grasp on Premier League status.
He said: “It doesn’t matter if you’ve fallen out with me or I’ve fallen out with you, we start our day with a handshake.
“It’s just a nice thing to do, it’s a real sign of respect for everyone and it does help the team spirit we have.”
