Weakened teams rule dropped by Prem

GOALTASTIC salutes today’s news that the ‘weakened team’ rules – which have previously led to action being taken for managers playing second string sides – have been dropped.
Premier League clubs will now be allowed to pick any player on their books in their 25-man matchday squad without sanctions.
Last season Blackpool were fined £25,000 after manager Ian Holloway made 10 changes for a match at Aston Villa, and in December 2009 Wolves were handed a suspended fine after Mick McCarthy rotated his squad for a game against Manchester United.
This is a fantastic decision, and I’ve said it before – if a player is good enough to be registered on the books of a club, he’s surely good enough to play.
