Real Madrid literally banking on Ronaldo and Kaka

SPANISH side Real Madrid have had two of their top players used as collatoral against a bank loan.
Superstar midfielders Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka have been used a security for a loan from European Central Bank to Bankia.
The bizarre business transaction has been made possible as Bankia has in turn lent money to help the Madrid club to buy the pair for a combined 160m Euro.
Although unlikely, the move means that if Real Madrid defaults in its repayments to Bankia, and the Spanish bank in turn defaults on its repayments to the European Central Bank, a bank in Frankfurt would become owners of two of world football’s top talents.
