TWO half-Filipino footballers were discovered on the books of Chelsea’s youth set-up by a PlayStation player – leading to the pair earning international caps.
Now Beckham-esque stars in the South East Asian nation where they both play for Loyola Agila FC, the Younghusband brothers were plucked from obscurity in 2005.
The British-born brothers – striker Phil and midfielder James – were both registered with Chelsea’s extensive youth system, and a mysterious PlayStation gamer based in the Philippines stumbled upon them while playing Championship Manager.
He contacted the country’s FA to say that Chelsea had a pair of Filipinos on their books – and now, between them they have notched 57 caps for the country.
