AFTER trouble with fans, two Turkish clubs were ordered to play in front of a crowd of women and children.
Under new regulations imposed by the Turkish FA, instead of playing out matches in empty stadiums men aged over 12 are banned if crowd trouble occurs.
And after Fenerbache fans stormed the pitch during their European match with Shaktar Donetsk, their tie with Besiktas became the first to have a women and children-only crowd.
A total of 41,000 took up the free tickets for yesterday’s match.
Fenerbache board member Yasemin Mercil said: “This really is a historic day.”
