FULHAM boss Martin Jol believes the club have shown they mean business as they look set to sign Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The 31-year-old moved to Old Trafford in 2008 for over £30m from a Tottenham side then managed by Jol, picking up the Premier League Golden Boot for the Red Devils during his spell at the club.
And after the Bulgarian scuppered an agreed deal with Fiorentina at the 11th hour going missing on a flight to Florence laid on by the club and the Italians having already paid the first installment over to Manchester United – Fulham are now likely to land their man for no more than £5m.
Jol said: “I tried to do something months ago and it didn’t come off and I came back so for him it was a right moment to make a decision and he made the decision for a move to us.”
