You’ll Never Walk Alone makes the Top 40

LIVERPOOL anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone was an unlikely re-entry into the charts this week, following the publication of the Hillsborough disaster papers.
Following the long-awaited release of official papers into the disaster, which caused the deaths of 96 of the club’s supporters at an FA Cup tie in 1989, a campaign to get the Gerry And The Pacemakers track into the charts was launched.
And the anthem today made it to number 12 in the Official Chart – after selling some 28,000 copies in just 48 hours.
Singer Gerry Marsden has said he will donate the proceeds of the sales to charity.
