BEFORE signing up for PSG to play for free on Transfer Deadline Day, donating his wage to charity, David Beckham had quite a few offers to mull over.
And it’s been revealed that, God love ’em, 8th tier Norwegian outfit Ørn Kristiania had submitted a bid.
The club were prepared to offer the number 7 shirt for the Oslo-based side, an official club sports bag, an official club button to sew onto one of his blazers, and to even waive the club’s membership fee of 2,500 NOK.
In a joint letter to the former LA Galaxy, Real Madrid and Manchester United man’s representatives, the chairman and manager said: “We believe that our platyers and our social environment around our club will be worth more than any amount of dollars or pounds.”
Perhaps they should have written to Peter Odemwingie…
SO THE dust is now settling on another deadline day’s deals, and to help showcase some of the best business done today, here’s my top team of players who were on the move.
Minus Peter Odemwingie, for obvious reasons…

ACCORDING to Le Parisien newspaper, globetrotting Goldenballs David Beckham coul dbe heading to Paris St Germain.
The French club are reported to be looking at former Manchester United, LA Galaxy and Real Madrid veteran Beckham as well as Daniele De Rossi of Roma and Napoli’s Marek Hamsik.
A badly translated quote from the news source said: “A close adviser of English player 37, free after his departure from Los Angeles Galaxy Paris confided that “was on the short list,” before adding “no decision had yet been taken.””.
Oh la la!
LIVERPOOL legend Steven Gerrard is top of an MLS shopping list of Englishmen that David Beckham will try to get to move Stateside, according to reports.
After sorting out his own future – with rumours of David Beckham moving everywhere from Monaco to Paris to China floating around – Goldenballs will then be tasked as an MLS recruitment officer with replacing his presence in the American league.
Liverpool’s talisman Steven Gerrard, Stoke City striker Peter Crouch, Chelsea full back Ashley Cole and Manchester United midfield metronome Michael Carrick are apparently the players being lined up.
An MLS source said: “With the wages, lifestyle, and anonymity the world’s top soccer players have playing in the MLS, it makes it an ideal destination for them to finish their careers.”
HARRY Redknapp says despite his reputation as a ‘wheeler dealer’ he has not considered any potential transfer targets for QPR this January.
It had been assumed owner Tony Fernandes would fund new signings when the transfer window opens, but the new QPR boss insists potential targets have not even been discussed.
He said: “I’m not looking at January. It’s about now. There are games between now and the window that will decide where we’re going.
“If we don’t pick up some points and wins in that period, what’s the point of putting yourself in trouble trying to buy players?”
Since arriving at QPR less than a week ago Harry Redknapp has been linked with Darren Bent, Michael Dawson, Joe Cole, Scott Parker, Loic Remy, Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Nicholas Anelka, Yoan Gouffran and David Beckham.
I repeat, less than a week ago.
NEW QPR boss Harry Redknapp has wasted no time in eyeing up transfers in to the Rs – with David Beckham first on his shopping list.
The 37-year-old midfielder announced recently he was to leave the LA Galaxy, with suggestions he could have one last hurrah in Australia’s A-League.
But Redknapp has said he thinks Goldenballs could still shine in the Premier League: “I’m sure he could still play in the Premier League.
“I’ve not discussed it with the chairman so we’d have to look at that.
“He’s a top fantastic player, we had him training at Tottenham and it was amazing round the place. He is absolute class.
“David could still be a great asset to anyone. Just having him round the place, showing people how to train and look after yourself. His professionalism is second to none.”
AFTER having his Team GB Olympic dreams dashed, David Beckham has been spotted jumping out at unsuspecting members of the public near to the London 2012 stadium.
He’s even made some of them cry, such as schoolboy Christian Lewis.
Goldenballs surprised around 60 members of the public using the adidas photo booth installed in Westfield Stratford City shopping centre near to the Olympic Park, before posing for mostly smiley photos.
LA Galaxy star Beckham said: “It was a unique experience for me and the people who took part and there were some great reactions when we surprised them in the photo booth.
“I always love coming back to London and the activity was a great opportunity for me to get involved in the adidas Take The Stage campaign and get behind Team GB.”
