Oldest ever professional club Notts County set to celebrate 150th birthday

NOTTS County FC is appealling for memorabilia to celebrate the club’s 150th birthday – a milestone which makes it the oldest professional club in the world.
The club and Nottinghamshire County Council archives service are urging fans to search their attics and cupboards for any football memorabilia relating to the Magpies which can feature in a special Time Tunnel exhibition.
Already donated are photographs, publications,an old rattle used at matches during the late 1800s, medals and matchworn shirts donated by players including all-time top scorer Les Bradd and 90s Play-Off hero Tommy Johnson.
Mark Dorrington, Team Manager, Archives and Local Studies at Nottinghamshire County Council archives service said: “We are looking forward to see what items of memorabilia and historical importance are handed in.”
