Charity just the job for football strip

ANYTHING Barcelona can do…
Hendon FC will help a charity by displaying its slogan on their home kit for the rest of the season.
Shirts worn by the Isthmian League Premier Division club’s players will now feature Street League’s Twitter hashtag #ChangeLivesThroughFootball, to raise awareness of the youth unemployment charity.
Hendon chairman Simon Lawrence said: “We’ve had a pretty tough time of it over the past few years.
“The loss of our Claremont Road ground has made it difficult for us to stay connected to our local community.
“Tough economic conditions have made it harder for our fans to get to our games and almost impossible for us to attract sponsors and advertisers. Being fans-owned is much harder than just being fans.
“But we’re not the only ones to have had it tough. We’re all aware of the fact that it is harder than ever for young people to get into the job market. We applaud the hard work being done at Street League and want to be a part of it.”

Adult entertainer sponsors Dutch football club

A DUTCH pornstar, Kim Holland, has sponsored Utrecht-based football club RUC.
The enterprising adult entertainer, who already has her own club and adult TV channel Girls of Holland, has added the sporting outfit to her portfolio – as the club’s name RUC bears a similarity to the Dutch word “ruk”, a slang term which means to enjoy ones own company a little too much.
The club, whose motto translates as “winning is never alone”, has even seen the adult actress cheering them on from the stands in recent weeks.

THE name of Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta will once again be gracing the shirts of the club he began his career – as sponsor.
Last summer the Spaniard set up Bodegas Iniesta, a winery in his hometown region of Castilla La Mancha.
And now the midfielder has agreed for his winery to be the sponsor of Albacete Balompie, a club in Spain’s third tier where he started his profesional career.
Club president Rafael Candel said Iniesta was “human, simple and professional” and highlighted his generosity.
He said: “I will call to thank for their support in return from the U.S. tour Barcelona is doing.”

Barca ask Fabregas to pay for his own transfer

DESPITE being the apple of Barcelona’s eye, the Spanish club have asked the Arsenal skipper to pay for himself to move there.
The Arsenal captain has a £40m asking price, a total the Spaniards have fallen short of for two summers running.
Now to help the move go through, Cesc is being asked to stump up £4m towards the total, and Barca are also looking for an Asian firm to sponsor the deal.
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell says: “Cesc Fabregas is our unique and final objective.”
